For those living in the state of Alabama, it is vital to understand that help for a cocaine addiction is possible.
Cocaine is considered one of the biggest drug threats to the state of Alabama. Cocaine is transported into the state from Houston, Texas or Atlanta, Georgia. Most of the cocaine comes into the state while still in its powder form, once it arrives in Alabama it is usually turned into crack cocaine.
Cocaine is one of those most addictive drugs, most because of the quick high it provides as well as the euphoric feeling that users will experience once the drug is ingested. Because of the addictive qualities of cocaine, more and more drug trafficking organizations are clamoring to sell the drug to addicts. Drug Trafficking Organizations responsible for transporting the cocaine into the state of Alabama are, for the most part, Mexican drug trafficking organizations, although officials have noticed that many African American drug trafficking organizations are beginning to provide cocaine as well.

The state of Alabama has implement a program called HIDTA. The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program monitors different locations in Alabama like, Baldwin, Jefferson, Madison, Mobile, Mongomery and Morgan counties in Alabama. This program ensures that there is an official presence and monitoring system in place in order to curb the cocaine abuse in the state of Alabama. However, despite this program, there are thousands of cocaine addicts in the state of Alabama in need of rehab programs.
