The National Survey on Drug Use and Health released reports indicating that there are 537,000 Massachusetts residents that have abused illegal drugs in the last thirty days. The report also says that in the last year 183,000 Massachusetts citizens have abused cocaine. There are 142,000 Massachusetts residents that report they are in need of a drug rehab but have not received any help.
High school males tend to abuse cocaine more frequently than high school females in the state of Massachusetts. 10.3% of males surveyed have abused cocaine at least once in their lifetime. Females in high school are also abusing cocaine, their percentage is 6.9%.
When Massachusetts children reach the 9th grade, 4.8% of them ahve abused cocaine. Twelfth graders abusing cocaine increase significantly, with 11.3% of them abusing cocaine. |
